A textbook and Finley

Here is the page in the genetics text book where our small story is.  I though you would enjoy seeing it.  It was really cool to see Finley's picture in a text book.

Ricki Lewis - the writer of these textbooks, writes for McGraw-Hill.  She found our blog a while ago, and asked if she could include Finley in this particular chapter.  We had to sign some papers, and send her a picture and she did the rest!  It is pretty cool.  Mat met up with her at the genetics conference this past week and she gave him a copy of the book.  nd she signed it, which was equally as cool.

Ricki has also written a book called "Gene Therapy and the Boy who Fixed it" - which will be coming out in March.  It is about our little friend Corey Kaas who had successful gene therapy done on his LCA.  (hHe has a different type of LCA, but Dr. Bennett - our researcher - is the one who cured him.  See the cool circle we have?)  She talked to Mat about the book, and Finley and her pictures will be included in that as well.  You can order a copy at Amazon.com and it will be out in March.  When we get closer - I will share more with you.  Very exciting.

The more we can get out about LCA, the better chance we have at a cure.  We are shouting as loud as we can, and so far, the right people are hearing us.  And we hope all of our faitherful friends, family, and readers will start shouting with us so that one day our girl will be CURED.
